Reverie: Work in Progress Final Exhibition Project
& Wooster High IB Exhibition

February 13 – March 1, 2025

Teens participating in the 2024-25 Work in Progress (WIP) program had the opportunity to work closely with local artists to learn a range of art-making processes including wet felting and fiber arts with Ivy Guild, 3-D printing and digital media with Luke Rizzotto, and woodworking and faux neon light signs with Kara Savant and Mariah Vargas. Their culminating exhibition, Reverie, in the HP Gallery will showcase artworks created utilizing these art processes and skills shared by each visiting artist. In conjunction, a showcase of works by Wooster High’s IB Visual Arts students will be on view in our Serva Pool Gallery.

Curator Series 2025
March 12 – April 19: queer ecologies: unlearning the logic of separability
May 23 – June 28: Inauditx (unheard)

The Holland Project’s Curator Series invites regional & national artist-curators to organize art and humanities programs in collaboration with HP Galleries. The series aims to expand the scope of conversations presented by curators and exhibiting artists beyond our gallery walls through programs that engage all departments of our organization: art, music, workshops, and community. HP Galleries’ upcoming resident curators are Kaitlin Bryson (Santa Fe, New Mexico) and Isaac Roman Quezada (Las Vegas, Nevada). Additional curatorial projects in 2025 will include pop-ups for Serva Pool Flux between May – September, as well as in October – November 2025 in conjunction with our Nevada Survey Exhibition and collaboration with the Desert Biennial Project.

All In: HP Galleries Fundraiser
April 26, 2025

The 7th biennial ALL IN gallery fundraiser is back on April 26th. This year’s exhibition will feature the work of over 100 artists – maybe our biggest yet! The artwork will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis on the night of the closing reception (April 26th) and every piece will be priced at $100 or $200. Proceeds from sales directly support gallery programming at Holland Project. In addition to being a fundraiser, All In presents a snapshot of the artists who are actively contributing to the visual arts side of Holland, from those who have recently exhibited in the space to those who help out behind the scenes. This show is our chance to present an exhibition that shows what all of the makers in our community within a community (hence, “ALL IN”) are up to. Thank you to this incredible and generous community of artists for their support of The Holland Project through the years!

Young Blood 2025
May 10th and October 3rd

Young Blood is a group exhibition occurring twice per year that is open for submissions by any regional artist under 21. Each artist may display 1-2 pieces, learn how to hang their work, and can even sell their art if they choose. Submitted artwork may be any medium, theme, or genre, and each exhibition culminates with a themed art party! Young Blood is a great opportunity for young artists in the region to gain some experience exhibiting their artwork, while also having the chance to meet and network with other young creatives. Submissions for the spring Young Blood open in April.

Serva Pool Flux
May through September 2025

HP Galleries just introduced and opened applications for “Serva Pool Flux” — an opportunity for artists and curators to exhibit in a pop-up style format in 2025. “Flux” encourages local artists to think big and propose experimental projects and installations for the HP Serva Pool Gallery. Exhibitions are up for one day only on weekends. Applications are open to any interested artist and curator through February 24th.

Versus: Morikawa vs. Jackson
August 12 – September 27, 2025

Versus is a concept exhibition where HP Galleries asks artists to collaborate for the first time and mount a two-person show of new works. Artists determine how their collaboration manifests, but are encouraged to work on some pieces and installation elements together. For our first-ever Versus, we’ve paired Reno-based artists Kai Morikawa and Richard Jackson. Morikawa is an emerging tattoo artist who has worked in fiber, painting, and sculpture and has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions with the Holland Project. Jackson is an experienced ceramicist who began his art studies in 1987 and has exhibited across Nevada including with the Holland Project. Both artists are deeply involved in the local music scene and reference illustration and pop culture iconography in their work.

Nevada Survey Exhibition & Desert Biennial Project
October 22 – December 3, 2025

Holland Project is pleased to bring back an exhibition and survey of contemporary Nevada artists in the Fall of 2025. Previously mounted as Bathed in Sunshine, Covered in Dust in 2014, the upcoming revival is an opportunity for HP Galleries to dive deeper into common threads of Nevada-based artmaking. Additionally, the project will exhibit selections from the Desert Biennial Project organized by our southern Nevada-based collaborators.

Keep tabs on upcoming HP Galleries programs, exhibitions, and events at hollandreno.org/art, or follow us on Instagram via @hpgalleries. For inquiries and information, please contact Gallery Manager David Delfin at galleries@hollandreno.org.

These programs are made possible through the generosity and support of our supporters and partners including the William H. Moffat Jr. Foundation, Cosmo’s Snack Bar, Nevada Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission.
